SGC Concept

Concept

Space Generation Congress is a three day event where young professionals and university students from around the world gather to take part in Project Teams, Leadership and Skills Development, and a series of Perspectives from Industry Leaders, as well as cultural events and networking. Each aspect of the SGC is important and intended to develop the delegates into the most diversified future leaders of space exploration. This event is open to people of all different backgrounds from science and engineering to politics and government to art and psychology, as these are all very important aspects of the space age and space exploration.

Programme Details

Participants are chosen through a competitive application process for the limited available seats at the Space Generation Congress. The Space Generation Congress has three main programme elements, each taking place over the three days of the event. These elements are Project Teams, Leadership and Skills Development, and a series of Perspectives from Industry Leaders.

Space Generation Project Meetings
SGC is the only annual meeting of the Space Generation. During this time Project Teams get together to exchange ideas, introduce new team members, and take the rare chance to work together in person. The SGC projects are youth-led projects started at previous congresses that are run throughout the year by youth volunteers just like you. SGAC supports these projects as we consider each to be important to the future of space exploration, and so the team is invited back each year to make use of time in the congress. Each project has its own long term goal, as well as a series of objectives to accomplish at SGC.

Leadership & Skills Development Workshops
The Leadership and Skills Development Workshops are a series of interactive presentations over the three days designed to help you be the future leaders of the space industry. We will have presenters from the United Nations UNESCO office, space agencies, and space companies. These presenters will cover topics from working in an international environment, promoting space in developing countries and your home countries, and how to start your own space company.

Perspectives from Industry Leaders
The final part of SGC will be a series of Perspectives from Industry Leaders who will share with you their experiences including mistakes they made, lessons they learned, and reasons for their actions, including, why create the “Space Generation.”
